11:00 - 17:00

Workshop Description:

[img_assist|nid=1050|title=|desc=|link=none|align=left|width=250|height=188] In this workshop, we will construct textile sensors and circuitry from conductive fabrics and thread, with ordinary textile materials such as poppers, fabrics and yarns. Instead of soldering and wiring, we will saw, iron and knit these sensors and circuits.

Workshop @Worklab 2

11:00 - 15:00

This workshop will cover the development of tangible interactive surfaces, including topics such as multi-touch interfaces and physical interaction. The TUIO protocol is an open community standard which has been designed for the simplified realization of tangible surface applications. Apart from an introduction to the open source reacTIVision software the workshop will give an overview about the general techniques and tools developed and used by the open source multi-touch community.

Capacity: 12 persons

Workshop @Worklab 1

14:00 - 16:00

[img_assist|nid=1053|title=|desc=|link=node|align=left|width=250|height=141]The RepRap project ("REPlicating RAPid prototyper") combines efforts from the fields of mechanical engineering, electronics and software development to conceive open 3D printers, which do not only turn (almost) arbitrary 3D models into tangible plastic objects, but can also replicate themselves.

16:00 - 17:00

levelHead uses a hand-held solid-plastic cube as its only interface. On-screen it appears each face of the cube contains a little room, each of which are logically connected by doors.

In one of these rooms is a character. By tilting the cube the player directs this character from room to room in an effort to find the exit.
