Christina Gruber is a visual artist, freshwater ecologist, sturgeon caretaker and lecturer whose work spans art, science and technology. She investigates contemporary digital ecologies and water systems by weaving artistic practice with scientific inquiry — from sound installations and speculative narratives to explorations of data infrastructures, cloud networks and their material impacts. Gruber’s projects often examine the invisible intersections of natural and technological systems, such as how data centers, digital networks and hydrological flows shape social and ecological environments. Christina’s artworks have been exhibited at numerous museums, festivals, worldwide, among them Transmediale, Ars Electronica, Belvedere21, Kunsthaus Wien and the CAC New Orleans.
