Arnica Montana (aka Héléne Blondel)

Hélène Blondel is a sound artist and musician living and working in Paris. Her work focuses on the use of analog synthesis through circuitry and sound. She obtained her master's degree in Art at Villa Arson in Nice in June 2025.
Her music, both delicate and abrasive, oscillates between ambient and noise. She builds her own synthesizers, which influence her sound improvisation. The relationship she develops with her instruments is at the heart of the process. She lets listening guide her improvisations, which she develops live, like stories without words.
Alongside her musical project, she is developing sound installation processes designed in situ, resonating with the places for which they are conceived. She uses circuits as material and imagines autonomous devices powered. She seeks to integrate drops of synthesized sound into a living space, encouraging the audience to engage in deep listening and inserting narration into the soundscape of the spaces in which she works.
