Public Activity? ActivityPub! is a campaign to ask public institutions (and groups, collectives, etc.) to join the Fediverse, an alternative to (a)social media platforms that use the ActivityPub protocol. It is also an opportunity to rethink communication as a common and explore other ways of relating to the digital: While campaigns have been based on a unitary and fixed manifesto one can sign, we propose a many-festo, a federated howl or a dynamic discussion that evolves through local meetings confronting one or more aspects (e.g., technical aspects, variants of the many-festo, design, translations, collecting materials, etc.)
The workshop will provide a brief overview of the project's first steps, the ideas behind it, and the planned development. Thereafter, depending on the necessities, zest, and possibilities, we will develop a further iteration, assembling materials, versioning the manifest or thinking and discussing design or dissemination.
