David Hartmann
David Hartmann studied Computer Science and Philosophy at TU Berlin, University of Bologna and University of Vienna.
As a research assistant he investigates technical-mathematical and philosophical-ethical aspects of algorithmic fairness and fair machine learning models with a special focus on audits of biased and discriminatory algorithms, causal inference and online (textual) data. He is particularly interested in third-party audits, whereby scientists and civil society critically try to understand, reverse engineer, and evaluate opaque and unfair systems from the outside.
