Lil Data is the hyperpop live coding project of Manchester-born, Iceland-based musician and researcher Jack Armitage, a founding artist of the PC Music label whose production fingerprints can be heard on records by Charli XCX, Jónsi of Sigur Rós, and Danny L Harle's Harlecore project on Mad Decent.
At AMRO, Lil Data performs a live-coded algorave set; music written and rewritten in real time, code projected for the audience to see, where the algorithm is the instrument, and the crash is part of the composition. Lil Data's practice spans experimental concerts, club electronics, multimedia installations, interface and sound design, and over 30 publications in music technology research.
